Searching for the Little Prince
À l'occasion des 80 ans du Petit Prince d'Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, l'artiste Léon Dubois part à la recherche du Petit Prince dans les lieux traversés par l'auteur et dans les mémoires individuelles des lecteurs d'aujourd'hui. En croisant l'archive, la création photographique et la collecte des souvenirs, l’artiste cherche à définir les contours visuels et conceptuels d’un Petit Prince contemporain : que signifie cette œuvre pour les lecteurs aujourd'hui ? Quels souvenirs évoque-t-elle en nous ? A l’issue de cinq ans de recherches dans une vingtaine de pays, l'œuvre finale sera restituée lors d’une exposition itinérante internationale à l’horizon 2026.
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's novel The Little Prince, the artist Léon Dubois started a photographic research on the footsteps of the writer. The artist is searching for the Little Prince in both; the places where the author lived and in the individual memories of today's readers. By combining archival materials, contemporary photography as well as involving the public, the artist seeks to define the visual and conceptual contours of a contemporary Little Prince: what does this story mean to the readers today? What memories does it evoke in us? In five years of research across twenty countries, the final work will be presented in an international touring exhibition by 2026.
احتفالًا بالذكرى الثمانين لصدور رواية (الأمير الصغير) للكاتب الفرنسي أنطوان دو سانت إكزوبيري، بدأ الفنان ليون دوبوا رحلة فوتوغرافية بحثية يتبع فيها خُطَى الكاتب، ويبحث عن الأمير الصغير في الأماكن التي عاش فيها الكاتب، ويستحضر ذكريات قُرَّاء اليوم الفردية التي مازال يعيش فيها. ومن خلال الجمع بين المواد الأرشيفية والفوتوغرافيا المعاصرة إلى جانب إشراك الجمهور؛ يسعى الفنان إلى تحديد الخطوط والملامح المرئية والتصورية للأمير الصغير المعاصر: ماذا تعني هذه القصة للقُرَّاء اليوم؟ وما الذكريات التي تُثِيرها فينا؟ في غضون السنوات الخمسة القادمة لرحلة البحث في حوالي عشرين دولة؛ سيُقدَّم المشروع في صورته النهائية في معرض دولي مُتجوِّل بحلول عام 2026.
